Introduction
For my third project this school year, I decided to look into different personality tests and determine whether personality tests are reliable. I was interested in this topic because I enjoy taking personality tests and I enjoy reading through the results. However, I have always wondered how reliable these tests are and I wanted to explore them and learn more about them.
History
For the history portion of my project. I researched different types of personality tests and looked into which personality tests psychologist consider to be "reliable." While researching, I found two personality tests that were continuously mention, which were the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Big Five Personality Assessment. For my product, I decided to create my own personality tests that combined the different qualities of personality tests that are considered "reliable." The personality test used the same letter combination as the MBTI, but I put each of those qualities on a scale, which was similar to the Big Five Personality Assessment. English
For the English portion of my project I wrote a argumentative essay that explains how reliable personality tests actually are. Throughout my essay, I focused on two personality tests, which were the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Big Five Personality Assessment. I explained the pros and cons of both personality tests and explain why they are considered more reliable compared to other personality tests.
